Metroplex Literacy Conference

The Metroplex Literacy Conference was started in 2004 by HOPE Literacy and LAMP (Literacy and Missions Partnership) as a training and networking hub for church-based adult ESL and literacy programs in the DFW area.  The Metroplex Literacy Conference is held every first Saturday of March.  For more information, visit the MLC website.

TELL Basic Hybrid Training

The TELL Basic Hybrid training is HOPE Literacy's fundamental teacher training. It fulfills HOPE Literacy site member's agreement to ensure excellence in teaching through on boarding training.  It is provided through the North American Mission Board. The training is excellent for directors, new teachers, and experienced teachers alike. It includes a self-paced, instructor-guided online portion (approximately 10-15 hours), followed by a half-day in person session.  Topics covered:

  • How to start an ESL program + ongoing strategies for excellence

  • Lesson planning for ESL ministries

  • Cross-cultural awareness

  • ESL teaching strategies

A training session can be scheduled exclusively for your program by contacting info@hopeliteracy.com. You can also visit our events page for any pre-scheduled hybrid trainings.
