A Divine Model of Instruction

By Harry Wilson

Words are the building blocks of knowledge, communication, and relationship. English Language skills are necessary for refugees and immigrants to survive, thrive, and assimilate to our culture.

Physically demonstrating the words that we are teaching is a great tool in the English teacher’s tool kit. This method is known as TPR, Total Physical Response.

In a similar way, God took the time and made the personal investment to display His great love and care for us by physically sending His Living Word, Jesus.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:1,14)

He did this so that we could know Him, His ways, and His culture.
